The Audi TT entered its "third generation" for the 2016 model year. The exterior design of the new TT is sleeker and sharper, with a redesigned grille, new headlight and taillight lens layouts, slightly restyled side profile and slightly different fascias. With the headlamps, grille and side intakes there are accentuating horizontal lines. The headlamps are an interesting new design that is much more aggressive and modern looking than that standard LED equipped units on the other Audis. The new TTS model further increases the aggression with larger intakes and chrome details.

The interior is easy to love - all truly contemporary and rich-looking. The dashboard is styled to resemble an airplane wing, and the TTS's dash is grained with a technical and futuristic design. The materials are of high quality and the centerpiece is the instrument cluster. The driver-oriented dashboard means the TTS has one of the cleanest interior designs out there. The TTS is fitted with a TFT display in front of the driver that includes the navigation screen. The interior of the third generation Audi TT is notable for its remarkable HVAC design, featuring temperature and airflow controls that are embedded in the air-vents themselves, hence improving ergonomics.
