1953 Chevrolet 3100 Custom Pickup 
There are few cars more iconic than a 1950s Chevrolet pickup truck- equally at home hauling supplies as they are built out for show, this generation of truck can really do everything well. The curvy body-style of this era was a classic almost as soon as it came out and looks just as good today as it did then. Penned as part of the Chevrolet Advance Design program, these trucks were the first major redesign after World War II and were advertised as being stronger, sleeker and larger than their predecessors. This design language was used on all of Chevrolets light and medium duty trucks between 1947 and 1955 and during this time, Chevrolet trucks were number one in American sales for 8 years running. 
This 1953 Chevrolet 3100 is a stunning example finished in a bright shade of teal green and benefits from numerous modifications to turn it into a fun, reliable street rod. The curvier design of this truck wears most colors well and this bright metallic teal is no exception- with a color matched grille and white Chevrolet lettering on the tailgate, this truck is believed to have received a significant amount of work in the 1990s and remains in very good condition, nearly 30 years on. Sitting low on a set of chrome 5-spoke American Racing Wheels, this truck checks all the necessary street truck boxes with a wood floored bed and shining chrome bumpers and headlight eyebrows. 
Inside, this truck is a striking combination of white and teal- with the exterior paint following you in on the dashboard and door frames. A nicely contoured bench seat is upholstered in white and gives the classic feel of having a bench seat, but also offers some bolstering for the driver and passenger for when the road gets curvy. In front of the driver sits a billet steering wheel with a rim wrapped in white leather, and behind it, a pair of Dolphin gauges- one of which being a speedometer and the other containing oil pressure, volts, fuel level and temperature. The steering column has been replaced with an adjustable unit and a fully upholstered white console with dual cup holders sits on the floor between the driver and passenger. As this truck was clearly set up to be a cruiser, it is fitted with all the necessary comfort features you would want such as air conditioning and a Retro Sound audio system. 
Sitting under the hood of this 3100 is a small block 350ci V8, fitted with an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake and 4bbl carburetor. This is about the most tried and true combination in the hot rod world and will prove to be dependable and simple to service for decades to come. This engine then sends power through a 3 speed automatic gearbox to the rear wheels. To ensure that this truck is both easy and safe to drive, power steering and disc brakes have been installed which makes this truck as simple to drive as a new car. 
What makes this Chevrolet 3100 so appealing is that all of the hard work has been completed and it is ready to be enjoyed. As it sits, it is ready to hit your local cruise in, or if you prefer, it could be a great jumping off point for a project where you tailor it to your personal style.
