The Superformance GT40/R is continuing in the footsteps of its legendary ancestors, collecting wins in several vintage racing events since its introduction in late 2009. In fact, in its very first vintage race outing, the new Superformance GT40/R was driven to victory by experienced GT40® racer and Superformance owner, Dennis Olthoff. It has finished first at the US Vintage Grand Prix at Watkins Glen and first in the New York Governor's Cup Race in 2009 as well.

The Chief Executive of Group Lotus, Mike Kimberley, Stepping Down

Mike, who will be 71 in August, has been suffering from severe back pain for a number of months and underwent surgery in late 2008 which was only partially successful. His doctors have now advised him to retire so as not to jeopardize his long term health. Under these circumstances, the board has regretfully accepted his resignation.

Lotus Receive the 2008 Dewar Trophy for Technical Excellence

The Royal Automobile Club has named Group Lotus plc as the recipients of the historic Dewar Trophy for 2008. The Dewar Trophy is awarded for an outstanding British technical achievement in the automotive field and the Dewar Trophy Technical Sub-Committee unanimously agreed that Lotus should be recognised for the company′s development of its Versatile Vehicle Architecture (VVA) chassis technology.

Patrick Dempsey to Race a Ferrari F430 at Le Mans for Team Seattle

News has just surfaced that Grey's Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey (aka McDreamy), will race at the 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Ferrari F430 GT race car.

Dempsey will race alongside co-drivers Don Kitch Jr. and 2008 Gran Am Koni Challenge Champion Joe Foster under the team name Team Seattle. The Ferrari race car will be prepared bu Advanced Engineering.
