This 1966 Ford Mustang is a very well-kept example that is the product of labor-of-love restoration that shows in superb condition throughout. It is presented in correct Springtime Yellow with a black vinyl top of a black interior. The odometer shows 75,667 miles, which are believed to be original.
After being introduced for the 1965 model year, the Ford Mustang had very quickly become the apple of the sports car world's eye, with sales dwarfing virtually every competitor and spawning a number of variants. The Mustang's wild popularity can be attributed to styling and performance, but also due to the wide variety of configurations available to the general public. For the 1966 model year, three different body styles -- fastback, hardtop coupe, or convertible -- were available with four different engine and four different transmission choices! There was something for virtually everyone - from convertible with a six-cylinder engine and automatic transmission for cruising to a performance fastback with a high-performance V8 and four speed manual!
Under the hood of this example is arguably the least-often-seen engine choice, a 200ci straight-six engine. The engine is paired with a three-speed manual transmission and both are believed to be original to this Mustang. The interior is presented in a thoroughly original configuration with correct bucket seats, vinyl upholstery, a black rim steering wheel and floor shifter. The only deviation from the original setup is an upgraded audio system with upgraded speakers and an AM/FM radio with cassette player.
On file with this Mustang is record of a 71-point inspection performed at the Park Place LTD Service Center, '66 Mustang owner's manual and a set of keys.
V8-powered first-generation Mustangs are a dime a dozen, while well-kept straight-six example are increasingly hard to come by. This example runs and drives excellently and would be a fantastic addition to any collection. Call 425.562.1000 for more information.
