Presented in classic black-on-black and only two owners from new, this 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo is a highly desirable and rare 993-generation Turbo coupe. It is a Seattle-area car since new, having been sold new at Barrier Motors in 1996. This 911 has known just two owners and has been driven a scant 17,900 miles-- less than 1,000 miles per year. This 911 was actually sold to the second owner here at Park Place LTD, and they have kept stewardship over it since 1999. The car is fully sorted, with recent service work completed here at the Park Place LTD Service Center, as well as at local Porsche specialist Squires Autowerke and Gerber Motorsport. A leak-down and compression test was performed in July 2014, which is on file.
As desirable as they are rare, 993-generation Turbos are among the most sought after 911s. 993 911 Turbos were the first generation to feature standard all-wheel drive, as well a twin turbochargers. The 993 would also prove to be the final air-cooled generation of 911s, with the water cooled 996-generation debuting in 1999. The 993 Turbo seen here is a meticulously cared for example that features a number of highly-desirable factory features, as well as a few choice aftermarket upgrades. Factory features include heated and power-adjustable factory hard-backed sport seats, factory Hi-Fi audio, factory 6-disc CD changer, Litronic head lamps and factory sunroof. The interior also features an OEM carbon fiber gear shifter and handbrake handle, as well as OEM-style TechArt carbon fiber trim adorning the dash, door panels and center console.
Shoehorned under the rear spoiler, the factory-rated 400hp twin-turbocharged 3.6L H6 engine fires instantly and sounds fantastic, but not overpowering, through a performance TechArt cat-back exhaust system. The engine is backed by its proper 6-speed manual transmission and factory all-wheel drive. To enhance handling and to lower this Turbo's ride height to Euro-spec, performance H&R springs were installed.
Included with this 993 Turbo are the owner's books, two keys and extensive service records including the leak-down and compression test. A clean two-owner CarFax history report is also included.
Less than 2,500 total 993 911 Turbos were produced for the US market, and they tend to come up for sale very rarely. Finding another well-kept and ultra-low mileage example would surely prove to be a difficult task -- don't miss out.
