This 1970 Plymouth Barracuda Gran Coupe was originally built at the Hamtramck, Michigan main Dodge plant, rolling off the assembly line on October 17th of 1970. Powered by its correct 383ci Super Commando V8 single 4-Barrel "Big-Block" engine paired to a 4-speed manual transmission (A833) producing 335hp and 425 ft.lbs/torque. Factory power steering. Trim tag is present in engine bay. (Decode included)
Purchased by its most recent owner in 2020, this 383ci Gran Coupe had been the recipient of a full rotisserie restoration to original factory specifications with less than 1000 miles accumulated since. Accomplished by a marque professional, an extremely detailed restoration was completed from stem to stern including mechanical, body, and paint. The only non-original items on this motorcar are the upgraded radio, period correct Crager Wheels, and the Plum Crazy painted roof.
The interior of this motorcar features a Premium Black Leather with Bucket Seats (PRX9), Full Door Panels (000), Overhead Consolette with formed Headlining (C26), Bucket Seats (C55), and wood trim Hurst Pistol Grip Shifter. Wood trim steering wheel and wooden trim center console. Rallye instrument cluster, upgraded AM/FM premium audio, Barracuda badging and aluminum door sill plates.
The options for the body as denoted on the trim tag include: Roof Drip Rail Moldings (M21), Wide body Sill Moldings (M25), Belt Moldings (M31), and Dual Exhaust (N41). During the restoration process the vinyl roof was removed and the entire vehicle was stripped and refinished including the roof with factory OEM High Impact Plum Crazy Metallic (FC7). 383 Hockey Stick Black stripes along body. 15" upgraded Cragar 5-spoke retro style wheels with Goodyear Polyglass GT tires. Body panels and gaps are straight. All chrome brightwork and trim has been renewed/refreshed. Front hood scoops and pins. The iconic rear window louvers look spectacular.
Accompanying this motorcar is a complete decode of all factory options as stamped on the inner fender Body Tag along with the spare wheel and tire with jack.
