Although Willys is largely known for the design and production of military Jeeps, they also produced capable and reliable civilian vehicles like this Jeep Pickup. Built-in 1949, this two-door pickup came equipped with a 134ci Inline 4-cylinder engine and T-90 3-Speed manual gearbox. The truck also has Four Wheel Drive which is run through a two-speed transfer case and features locking front hubs. On the inside, a gray vinyl bench seat and original 2-spoke steering wheel are present along with a heater, drivers side sun visor, and glove compartment.
Rarely seen in fully restored condition, this example was purchased in 2015 and was then sent to marque experts Willys America where, between 2016 and 2018, it underwent a complete top-to-bottom restoration. During this process, the chassis was powder-coated, all mechanicals were rebuilt and the truck was fully repainted. Finished in a striking shade of dark green, the wheels and pinstriping were finished in a period correct pale yellow that look great together. During the restoration, no stone was left unturned when rebuilding or replacing every component at a cost of over $85,000. A full binder with shop receipts is included with the sale, along with 2 sets of keys and an owners manual.
