1957 Chevrolet Corvette
It is indisputable that the Chevrolet Corvette is one of the great icons of American motoring and in their 70 years of production, the C1 built between 1956 and 1962 may be the most significant. During this era, the Corvette began its evolution from a grand touring Thunderbird competitor to a legitimate world-class sports car. Gone was the standard Blue Flame inline-6, and in its place, increasingly powerful V8s, bigger brakes, and numerous options aimed at increasing both performance and driving enjoyment. In 1957, Chevrolet built just 6,339 Corvettes, making it one of the models lowest production years and one of the most sought-after.
This 1957 Corvette is a beautiful example finished in Onyx Black over a Beige interior. Presented in beautiful condition, this Corvette is perfectly set up to be used as a driver, which would be at home at any car event you took it to. Although the 1957 Corvette was offered with deviating colors on the cove along the side of the car, this car is finished in monochrome black, which gives it a particularly sinister appearance and looks great with the chrome hub caps and wide white wall tires. The paint and body all the way around this car is in excellent condition, and it is clear somebody spent a considerable amount of time getting it just right earlier in the cars life. 
The Beige interior features the classic 1950s Corvette dual-cockpit style design with two matching dashboard humps on both the drivers and passenger side. This example was set up to be a comfortable cruiser and is fitted with an optional heater as well as a push-button style radio that has been modernized with a disguised cassette player. The upholstery is finished with the correct pleated door cards and waffle weave seat centers, and a 3-spoke steering wheel with beautiful chrome spokes that frames the sweeping speedometer in front of it. 
Sitting up front under the hood is one of the most exciting parts of this Corvette. The 283ci V8 is fitted with dual-four barrel carburetors sitting on top, rated for 245 horsepower; this is one of just 2,045 produced with this engine in 1957. When you open the hood, it looks tremendously original and retains pieces like aluminum finned Corvette valve covers, chrome air cleaners, and chrome ignition shielding on the distributor- which was installed on any Corvettes in period optioned with a radio. This engine is backed up with a rare 2-speed Powerglide automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels. Although this Corvette isnt set up for all-out track performance, it is one of the nicest possible examples for just driving around town and enjoying and will be dependable for years to come. 
The 1956-1962 C1 Corvette is a perfect representative of the golden age of American cars. Beautiful, fast, and a timeless design, there is a reason that these cars have been so coveted for decades. This 1957 example is absolutely stunning in person and is one of the best-looking examples on the market.
