About this Vehicle

This 1958 GMC Suburban Carrier Pickup belonged to Ellis Motors in Kent Washington until 1964 when Pat Ellis of Ellis Motors transferred it out of his dealership and into his personal name on March 24, 1964. In 1972 he retired to Port Orchard, WA. This is where I first saw the truck. After a year of failed attempts to buy the truck, I finally purchased it in 1982. It is believed that less than 100 of these were produced for 1958 before being discontinued when the steel box fleet sides were introduced. I only know of 3 in existence today, this is one of them, Steve McQueen had one in his collection and the famous Ralph Wescott collection had one also. This might be their earliest 1958 produced with total GMC truck production starting at #1000 this is truck #1210.
Original optional Pontiac 336 V-8 motor serial # 0015757 factory colors retained Flame red body, Dover white top, body-off restoration at Award-Winning Paint and Restoration Facility. Factory options include 336 Pontiac V-8, tachometer, foot pump, windshield washer, deluxe heater., radio, day/night mirror, front bumper guards, dual inside visors, driver and pass outside mirrors, windshield visor. All original parts taken off were retained and will be included in the sale. Upgrades were front and rear mono leafs, dropped front axle, front disc brakes, and tri-power set-up, and many others! First time offered in 40 years.
