1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible
In 1976, new legislation in the United States put the fate of new convertibles in jeopardy. To capitalize on this, Cadillac advertised the 1976 Eldorado as the last American convertible and sold nearly 15,000 units- many to collectors who wanted what they thought was going to be the final open air motoring experience available. Thankfully, convertible sales in the US were only on a brief hiatus but the 9th generation Eldorado-built from 1971 to 1978- represents the epitome of success and wealth in the 1970s and stands as the pinnacle of personal luxury coupes from the era. This 1976 Eldorado Convertible is a perfect example of one of the largest and most luxurious convertibles to ever come out of Cadillac and represents a great opportunity to own a proper status symbol.
Built in March of 1976, this Eldorado has been under the care of just three careful owners from new and still presents in fantastic, original condition. At the time, Cadillac offered a long list of fantastic colors on the Eldorado but few were quite as stunning as the Firethorn Red that this car was ordered from the factory in. To accent the red exterior, a white power top, tonneau cover and white leather upholstery were selected and both are in fabulous condition. As the Eldorado was one of the most luxurious cars on sale at the time, it comes with a long list of convenience features that wouldnt be standard on most cars for years to come. Options like the famous Twilight Sentinel auto dimming headlights, power front seats, AM/FM/8-Track Stereo with weatherband, a digital dash clock and automatic door looks. 
Under the hood, sits a massive 500 Cubic Inch Cadillac V8 which produces 190 Horsepower and 360 Lb-Ft of torque and gives the 224 inch long car plenty of passing power on the highway. A 3 Speed Automatic gearbox shifts smoothly and power disc brakes help slow the car down. This Eldorado convertible is in impeccable a proven show winner with an award from the 2022 Greenwood Car Show with photos from its exhibition there. The car also includes its OEM owners manual and some service records from the cars history. When it comes to the ultimate in 1970s luxury, it doesnt get better than an Eldorado and as far as Eldorados go, it will be hard to find a better example than this one!
