1992 Jaguar XJ-S V12 Coupe
In the mid-1970s, Jaguar needed to replace their famed E-type sports car, a vehicle that was regarded by many as the most beautiful car ever designed. So, when the time came to design a follow up, instead of just changing up their old design, they decided to do a complete 180 and move from the swoopy curves of the 1960s, to a futuristic, angular design that would see them through the 1980s and 1990s known as the XJ-S. With a luxurious leather interior and a smooth V12 engine, the XJ-S redefined the grand touring genre and forced the competition from Germany to play catch up. 
Built in 1992, this Jaguar XJ-S was produced towards the end of the models run and benefits from most of the tweaks and modifications that Jaguar implemented during the product cycle. Finished in a stunning shade of Flamenco Red Pearl, the car absolutely glistens and is an appropriately upscale color for one of Englands great grand touring vehicles and features some paint protection film up front to keep it looking great. The paint is complimented by a wonderful set of mesh alloy wheels known as Lattice Sports Alloys. As this is a later production model, this car benefits from the large glass single headlights in front which give the car an especially clean and European look not seen on the earlier US specification cars. 
The interior of the car is a uniquely elegant place covered in swathes of leather and wood on nearly every surface. The seats, doors and center console are finished in Doeskin beige leather that presents remarkably well with only a few minor signs of wear on the drivers seat bolster. Sitting in front of the driver and passenger is a slab of Elmwood veneer and in the center stack sits a 6-CD AM/FM Cassette player and digital HVAC unit with an R134 converted air conditioning system. As the XJ-S was a top-end car in its time, it was loaded with features like heated, electric seats with driver and passenger memory, cruise control and a tilt steering column. 
Under the hood sits the heart of the XJ-S, a 5.3-liter V12 with overhead cams, capable of producing 263 horsepower and known for being one of the smoothest engines of all time. As this is a later car, it benefits from Marelli digital ignition which is paired with electronic fuel injection, designed by Lucas. Thanks to an enthusiastic previous owner, a list of servicing has recently been carried out on this engine which includes new valve cover and valley cover gaskets, new belts, replacement spark plugs, and a new ignition system. This engine is then paired to a notoriously dependable 3-Speed GM TH400 gearbox and it is all slowed down by a recently serviced set of 4-wheel disc brakes. 
In production from 1975 through 1996, the Jaguar XJ-S was able to maintain its status as a sign of success for over 20 years. In more recent times, this Jaguar is beginning to gain momentum as a collectible with few truly great examples still remaining. Showing just 51,597 miles, this example has been exceptionally kept over the years and could be mistaken for a car that is just a few years old when judged on condition alone. Thanks to its unique styling, luxurious interior and V12 power, this is a classic car that you will want to use all the time and will garner respect from car enthusiasts of any marque.
