This superb, completely restored 1968 Camaro Z/28 RS Coupe is 1 of Only 7,199 Z/28s produced in 1968, this outstanding example is equipped with a matching-numbers original 4-speed Muncie M21 manual transmission and rear end. It has a correct date-coded, professionally restored 302ci MO block (coded V0410M0 which corresponds with the reproduction Trim Tag date of 04D). This car has the very desirable black-and-white houndstooth interior with full gauge package and fold-down rear seat. The car is also equipped with 15" Rally wheels and front and rear spoilers. It has been stored in a climate controlled garage as part of an extensive collection, and has been driven only 300 pampered miles since a complete ground-up restoration. Everything from the hideaway headlights to the reverse lights works as new. Full Jerry MacNeish report from December 2016 is included with the sale. This 1968 Camaro Z/28 RS is in stellar condition throughout and is ready to be driven, shown, admired, and enjoyed for years to come. This Generation 1 Camaro is an attention grabber and has benefitted from a comprehensive professional restoration, repainted in mile-deep Black with White Stripes. The body on this Camaro is outstanding, perfectly straight panels with the correct gaps show the high-level of crafstmanship that this car was subject to during its comrehensive restoration. All the exterior chrome and brightwork was replated, repolished, or replaced during the restoration.
Inside, the cabin is also in outstanding condition throughout and features all-new upholstery with bucket front seats, wood grain center console, wood grain trim, floor shifter and console gauges. The 4-speed manual shift lever sits proudly above a correct and impeccable center console with the four factory gauges. The seats are covered in the correct black and white houndstooth and all are in excellent condition. The dash, facia, gauges and controls, headliner glovebox, carpets, knobs and lights are all correct and in excellent order. A correct push-button AM radio rounds out this Camaro's interior. The trunk, as well, shows excellent, correct jack, spare and floor covering are all present.
