2002 Mercedes Benz SLK32 AMG. Magma Red on Black leather. 1 of 1,182 built for the US market. Supercharged V6, 349hp/332ft-lb. Only 36,222 miles since new, this 2 Owner vehicle was sold new at Mercedes of Newport Beach, then purchased by the 2nd owner in 2005 with only 16k miles. This SLK32 AMG has been a garage queen since, only coming out on sunny days. This was the first AMG series convertible sold in the USA, and this car presents in like new condition throughout. The lowest mileage example currently for sale in the country.
Being a Mercedes, the SLK32 has all the attributes of a luxury car. The sport seats are upholstered in exquisite Black Nappa leather and are equipped with integrated headrests and what Mercedes-Benz calls "aggressive" side bolsters. Standard equipment includes dual-zone air conditioning, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows and door locks, heated power mirrors and a premium audio system. In addition, the SLK32 has eight-way power seats and a telescoping steering wheel, and retractable steel hardtops that fold into the trunk.
Mercedes and the AMG team built a Supercharged 3.2L V-6 that whips out 349 hp and 332 pounds-feet of torque in effortless fashion. The Speedshift transmission promises shifts that are up to 35 percent faster than those in a conventional automatic. By tipping the gear lever to the left, the transmission will determine the best possible gear for maximum acceleration in any situation. Mercedes-Benz claims a 0-to-60-mph acceleration time of 4.6 seconds, at the time calling this model the "quickest Mercedes-Benz ever." Stand on the gas, and you're pressed into the sport seats instantly There's no perceptible lag or audible whistle, just big hairy hustle.
The SLK32 AMG also received special chassis tuning, which allows the car to really be hustled. They recalibrated, and reinforced the suspension with unique spring rates and shock valving allowing minimal roll and tight rebound control while making pavement bumps and voids imperceptible. Double-spoke forged alloy wheels on the SLK32 AMG hold 17-inch tires. A unique front air dam incorporates AMG fog lights, while a small lip spoiler at the rear of the trunk lid is said to reduce aerodynamic lift by more than 50 percent.
