It originally sold new for $90,590 and is equipped desirable factory options, consisting of; the aforementioned Atlas Grey Metallic paint color along with the previously noted Black Leather Interior along with the enthusiast's mandatory Manual Transmission, Sport Chrono Package Plus, BOSE High-End Sound Package, Power Seat Package, Heated Seats, Navigation Module for PCM, Self Dimming Mirrors. As a Carrera S model, this 911 comes standard with a variety of performance equipment over a base 911. For starters, the car is powered by a 3.8L flat-six engine (3.6L in a base 911) that develops 355hp and 295lb-ft of torque, a 30hp/22lb-ft jump over a base model. Also standard for a Carrera S is the highly desirable Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system. This example is equipped with an enthusiast's mandatory six-speed manual transmission. Further features of this 911 include Bi-Xenon headlamps, auto climate control, and rain-sensing wipers. This car shows, runs and drives excellent - much finer than the age and mileage might imply. An exquisitely built, rocket-like German sports car that redefines all-out road performance with tremendous levels of road holding, braking, and acceleration dovetailed with deft handling. Porsche's mighty flat six is an "always" engine. It never stops hammering for more and rarely runs out of the capacity to nail passengers to their seats. With slicker bumpers, taillights, rocker panels and a wing that pops up to minimize lift, the Carrera S makes a better impression on the eye and a lesser dent in the wind. Porsche's big ventilated four-wheel discs and their ABS circuitry never flinch. Their huge reserve of stopping capacity ties into a tuned suspension that combines for superior handling capabilities. The Carrera S is a performance oriented version of a base 911, and it is powered by a more powerful 3.8L H6 engine, rather than the 3.6L in the base model. This performance-tuned engine develops 355hp/295ft-lb and features standard dry-sump engine lubrication and Vario-Cam Valve Timing. Standard equipment also includes a performance big brake system derived from the Turbo/GT2 Models.
The cockpit styling is every bit as refined as you'd expect and this Porsche maintains basic design themes from the past but boasts cleaner layouts and enhanced functionality, particularly the classic instrument cluster which includes an ignition lock in the traditional Porsche location -- to the left of the steering wheel. Though the cabin has a function-oriented layout, upscale materials on the doors and dashboard, and remarkable craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout welcomes both driver and passenger. The black leather seats in front are firmly bolstered and deeply contoured, and are in excellent condition, offering miles of comfortable driving.
