This is very-low production car that's 'Showroom Fresh' throughout. Turbocharged 2.0L 260hp/260lb-ft 4-cylinder engine, 5-speed manual trans, Limited-Slip differential, Stabiltrak, Removable hardtop. The optional Premium Package added Leather Trimmed Seats, Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel, Leather-Wrapped Shift Knob, Bluetooth® for Phone, and Steering Wheel Audio Controls. Further options consist of; Air Conditioning, 18" Chrome Wheels, High-Performance Audio System, AM/FM Stereo with 6-Disc CD Changer and Auxiliary Input Jack, Sport Metallic Pedals. Local car from new, sold new 11/2009 at Pontiac Dealer in Renton, WA. This was the only year for the Solstice GXP Coupe and only 1,266 were made, with just 366 being finished in this car's Mysterious Black color - these are future collectibles. Included with purchase are; Owner Books, Extra Key, Solstice History Book, Window Sticker, and a clean CarFax report.
Beautiful curves and high beltline give the Solstice coupe a clean and unique presence. Sporting a hunkered-down look with a long hood and short rear deck, the Solstice has Pontiac's characteristic dual-port grille. The coupe has a fastback appearance with a sleek roofline, the coupe also has a removable center roof section for an open-air driving experience. Lots of power, rear-wheel drive, taut suspension and good gas mileage make the Solstice a hoot on the road. Excellent performance and open air driving, a great daily driver or summer Sunday cruiser.
The Solstice GXP is performance-oriented, with more power and handling capabilities than the base model. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with direct injection makes 260 hp and 260 pounds-feet of torque, up 87 hp compared to base models. The 2-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine includes all of the bells and whistles of a modern internal combustion engine. Dual overhead camshafts, direct injection technology and the turbocharger transform a small inline four-cylinder engine into a powerful, fuel-efficient screamer that packs 260 horses under the hood and goes from zero to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds.
On the inside, GXP models get aluminum sill plates, embroidered floormats and a leather steering wheel. Standard on the GXP but optional on the base Solstice are steering-wheel stereo controls, cruise control, fog lamps, and power mirrors, windows and locks, with remote keyless entry. Exterior differences are minimal and include different front and rear styling, dual exhaust, and 18-inch alloy wheels with performance tires.
Before production was stopped, only 1,266 were built. That low number, combined with the quality of the car and desirability of the coupe version, guarantees that this vehicle will become a collector's item. This is a rare car getting very hard to find, and you can have fun driving it while it continues to appreciate in value.
