Grand Sport is one of the most storied monikers in Corvette's illustrious racing heritage and combines the Corvette's LS3-based powertrain with wide-body styling, a wider track and a racing-bred suspension for a distinctive model that delivers a great balance of road and race track performance. this superb GS carried an original MSRP over $77,025 with over $17,495 in factory options, including the aforementioned 4LT (adds Leather Dash & Door Panels, Dual Power Seats, Auto-Dim Mirrors, Heated Seats, Bose Premium Audio w/6-Disc CD, Tilt/Telescoping Steering Wheel, Satellite Radio, Bluetooth® Phone, Power Top), and Z51 (adds Uprated Springs/Shocks, Larger Sway Bars, Cross-Drilled Rotors, Transmission and Power Steering Cooling, Goodyear Supercar Tires) Packages. This drop-top GS Corvette shows in showroom fresh condition throughout and runs/drive like new, thanks to its previous two owners, who were both meticulous with their maintenance of this wonderful Grand Sport Convertible Corvette. With its special equipment, the Grand Sport offers a unique blend of performance and amenities. Its suspension package approaches that of the Z06. The optional Heritage package on this fine example adds iconic Victory Red front fender hash marks (not installed - in trunk), as well as seats with Grand Sport embroidery. This Grand Sport was ordered with the desired 4LT trim package, as well. Inside, the Grand Sport presents a familiar and classic Corvette cockpit. This extremely well-equipped 4LT comes teeming with standard features. The sport bucket seats are well-bolstered and plenty supportive for the fast and furious. Ours also had optional heat, perforated leather inserts, and power adjusters for the passenger. Notable options include a Bose premium seven-speaker sound system and a head-up display.
Visually, the Grand Sport shows off a number of aggressive add-ons. Up front, the mean look begins with a Z06-style splitter. Bulging front and rear fenders also infuse a more muscular look. And the fiberglass front fenders don 'Grand Sport' badging. The rear brake ducts enhance both form and function. They provide the extra cooling desired for hard charging. And the rear spoiler is also inherited from the Z06.
The Grand Sport replaces the Corvette's previous Z51 package and brings a greater degree of handling performance, with wider wheels and tires; revised shock, stabilizer bar and spring specifications; and specific gearing. A combination of 0-60 performance of four seconds, skid pad adhesion of 1 g and EPA-estimated 26 mpg on the highway makes it a very well-rounded sports car. To clamp down on the Grand Sport's momentum are Z06 brakes, with six-piston calipers up front, four-piston in the rear.
