Performance is where the Cayenne GTS shines, offering sports-car handling and off-road capability. The acceleration and handling are very responsive and precise, and the race-bred Porsche brakes provide the required stopping power. The pleasant purr of the 4.8-liter V-8, an aluminum engine block with four overhead camshafts and Porsche's Variocam variable-valve timing, makes it sound finely tuned, and the specs show 405 horsepower at 6,500rpm, and 369 foot-pounds of torque at 3,500rpm. Porsche claims 5.7 seconds from 0 to 60 mph.The Porsche GTS offers a wide array of capabilities---it can tow more than 7700 pounds---and has steering and brake feel that one expects in a sports sedan. The Cayenne GTS offers the most sports car-like handling of any SUV. The adjustable air suspension is very flexible, offering both a terrific, supple, well-controlled ride in the comfort setting and a fair amount of precision in the sport setting, all sorts of tricks to morph the Cayenne GTS from high-clearance, all-terrain vehicle to road-hugging canyon carver. It's tremendously well-balanced and out-handles virtually every other SUV.
Though the cabin has a function-oriented layout, upscale materials on the doors and dashboard, and remarkable craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout welcomes both driver and passenger. The cabin of this Porsche Cayenne GTS is fitted with an optional two-tone leather in a sophisticated Umber and Tartufo combination. The cockpit of this Porsche maintains basic design themes from the past but boasts cleaner layouts and enhanced functionality. Cabin tech is present in the form of the Porsche Communication Management system, an all-in-one navigation, and its Bose Premium Audio system that produces clean and refined sound.
